balloon Chemistry

AIM: To see which chemical mix creates the most gas.


Hypothesis: (what do i think will happen)


Materials:



  • bottle
  • balloon
  • baking soda
  • salt
  • white vinegar
  • lemonade          

Steps

DLO about maths

For the past few weeks the class has been doing dimic maths. Dmic maths is where the teacher gives groups a problem and the teacher explains it and the teacher sends all the groups off and solve the problems and the teacher comes up two one of the groups and says do you want to go up and share what you have figured out and the teacher put’s group 1 or group 2 and they share what they have done thanks you Whaea Raewyn.

Skittles Experiment

Aim: To separate colours from skittles by using the chromatography.


Materials:

  1. 1.lime green skittles
  2. 2.red skittles
  3. 1.yellow skittles
  4. purple skittles  
  5. petrie dish 
  6. cold water


Steps 

  1. skittles in the patrie dish
  2. pour water on the skittles in the patrie dish
  3. the water will take the skittles colour out of them  

Conclusion

This was a fun experiment  and thank you for teaching us the experiment.
I learnt that the skittles reacts to the water and makes the colour dissolve from the skittles and stayed in the water.

Rainbow Paper

Aim: To separate colours by using the process of chromatography.


Definition: Chromatography is a method of separating out materials from a mixture. Eg. blood, ink, drugs,


Scenario

A crime has been committed. The police have a signed cheque and a
letter from the same crime scene but it seems like the handwriting is
different. They have 3 suspects but not enough evidence. They need to
know if the letter and the cheque were written by the same person.
How do they tell if the pens used for both of these pieces of evidence are
the same?


Materials

1 filter paper
2 water
3 pencil
4 water-based-felt-pen
5 ruler
6 cup

Process

Step 1: Get paper.
Step 2: Rule a line with the pencil 1cm away from the bottom of the paper.
Step 3: Draw 2 dots on the line.
Step 4: Fold the paper over the side of the cup.
Step 5: Pour a little bit of water in the cup.
Step 6: Watch.

Conclusion

over all I thank that this was an amazing experiment. It was fun and I can do this at home.It was fun to watch. Thank you all for reading my blog post. Have I nice day
